Project Participation

Encore Design Group provides services throughout the duration of the project as is standard for construction projects. As size and demands of projects vary, the firm may be retained to participate in any or all of the following typical project phases as best suits the needs of the client:

Planning & Programmatic
Artistic, cultural, social, physical, and economic factors are assessed in order to determine the type, scale, form, and quality of the facility. Conceptual design studies, preliminary budget exercises, and end user interviews are evaluated and presented to the design team. This assists in the compilation of a program document that establishes a general understanding of the present and future needs of the facility as well as basic guidelines for the subsequent design phases.

Schematic Phase
An intensive exchange, through conferences, coordination, descriptive documents, and detailed sketches, is provided to reasonably define our portion of the parameters of the facility design. Basic systems design, acoustical shapes, and support spaces are determined.
Design Phase
Pertinent operational and functional requirements of each aspect of our work is discussed, considered, and resolved. We contribute a set of substantially complete drawings, and specifications, for the consideration of the client and the design team. Our activity in this phase continues until our client is satisfied with the results, and authorizes us to proceed towards final documents.

Design Phase
All appropriate bids are reviewed and evaluated for compliance with the contract documents. We serve as part of the negotiating team to help insure the best interests of the client are respected in terms of function and price.
Design Phase
During the construction period, we review contractors' submittals and make periodic visits to the job site and to the various manufacturers for on-going support in fabrication and installation coordination. Final acceptance tests are performed, and final reports created. User training is reviewed and supervised.
